How do I create a PDF from PSD and maintain the image quality with size reduced?

Like the earlier answers already mention, you can't have your cake and eat it. In other words. you can't reduce file size without losing quality. Especially in imagery from photos, almost every pixel differs from the adjacent one. So typical run-length encoding compression (e.g. the final pass in PDF data) can't squeeze any data together. However, the lossy JPEG compression isn't that bad. In fact, set to a high quality, the compression will not be visible. (Pictures generally hold much more information than our eyes can see.) So any difference between the original image and the compressed result can be measured but not seen. If you need to re-edit images (change colors or tonal values) then JPEG compression will also be taboo...

PDF documents can be cumbersome to edit, especially when you need to change the text or sign a form. However, working with PDFs is made beyond-easy and highly productive with the right tool.

How to Create PDF with minimal effort on your side:

  1. Add the document you want to edit — choose any convenient way to do so.
  2. Type, replace, or delete text anywhere in your PDF.
  3. Improve your text’s clarity by annotating it: add sticky notes, comments, or text blogs; black out or highlight the text.
  4. Add fillable fields (name, date, signature, formulas, etc.) to collect information or signatures from the receiving parties quickly.
  5. Assign each field to a specific recipient and set the filling order as you Create PDF.
  6. Prevent third parties from claiming credit for your document by adding a watermark.
  7. Password-protect your PDF with sensitive information.
  8. Notarize documents online or submit your reports.
  9. Save the completed document in any format you need.

The solution offers a vast space for experiments. Give it a try now and see for yourself. Create PDF with ease and take advantage of the whole suite of editing features.

Create PDF: All You Need to Know

For every pixel, you end up with twice the data compared to the original image. Even JPEG's own comparison of pictures shows that JPEG has a lot of information lost in compression. (You can read more at JPEG's compression of color values.) Even small differences caused by JPEG compression will make pictures look slightly different when viewed. However, JPEG is not a lossy compression. It can be seen as a lossy compression, i.e. it gives out more information than what is stored in each pixel on the picture. This is how your photo looks when compressed in a typical JPEG format. You'll get more detail when viewing but won't be able to identify any difference between original and compressed. If you are making a GIF file, you'll get the highest quality and get more details. When viewing compressed GIF, you will be able to spot any slight differences between the original photo and the GIF.
