How To Create PDF Online?
Easy-to-use PDF software
Is saving your LinkedIn as PDF, or creating your resume with identical design, assuming all content are identical (I can just take out profile sections I don't need, etc.), the best way to make it the ATS friendliest you can get?
Bottom line is no. When I printed mine it generated a 4-page document, which no one wants outside of academia, research science, etc. I really don’t know why LinkedIn offers this because t know full well that a resume is a different animal than a LinkedIn profile. What good does a printed out LinkedIn profile do? Employers have probably already seen it anyway during their initial search through LinkedIn profiles. A resume as a separate creation gives you TWO pieces of work in order to present your professional self, a professional resume and a complete LinkedIn Profile. Using a profile PDF puts the KBOSH on that opportunity. I was a headhunter for 12 years before I switched to the candidate side and started writing resumes, profiles, and coaching the job search process. I mention this because, with very few exceptions (certain IT specialties), job search is hard and a resume is now depended upon to do much more of the heavy lifting vs anytime in the past. Investing in your career is fast becoming a reality - competing against other talented people in most any industry requires putting your BEST self forward - from how your resume is put together to how you follow up an interview session. I wish this weren’t the case. I wish you could see an ad for which you’re 85% qualified, send a resume in, be called for an interview, and let the chips fall where t may. Those days are GONE. Landing a solid job with a company managed by healthy people for decent pay where you can cover your bills, save something, have leisure time, and enjoy at least some kind of fulfillment is MUCH more a challenge now that it was prior to the great recession, ESPECIALLY for those further advanced in age than their early 40’s. Sorry I went way beyond the question but the sooner one realizes this and accepts it, the more success one will have.
